ChukMuk

This is my take on an old idea. The Tibetan word for it is "Chukmuk." The name reminds one of the sound it makes when struck with flint to produce sparks.

They were quite popular up until about the end of the 1800's from what I've read. And rightly so. Everything needed to create an ember in one place. For use out in the field I'd carry a separate pouch with material to make a birds nest, though it is fairly easy to gather materials on site. 

Most of the examples from antiquity I've seen are highly decorated with silver and precious stones. I'm not at that level yet but these are lovingly made with brass fittings and a nice upholstery quality leather.
