Emberlit Original Stainless Lightweight Backpacking Stove

This is the ORIGINAL Emberlit Stove. Designed and made here in the USA. It weighs about 11 and a half ounces (~320 g) and is constructed of rugged 304 stainless steel.

Twig stoves have been around for a long time and can be made from simple soup cans. The Emberlit stove is a refinement of those old can stoves. Not only does it pack flat for storage, the Emberlit Stove is impervious to corrosion and is remarkably strong. It will hold the weight of any pot or pan that will sit securely without wobble.

Like everything we make here at Merkwares, this wood burning stove comes with a forever happiness guarantee because you are never going to wear it out. With use, the individual panels that make up the Emberlit may take on a slight warp. This is normal and doesn’t affect the assembly or durability of the stove.

Hot product!

When you're bushwhacking, it's perfect for gathering a heap of ground litter, twigs and branches an heating a contained fire.
It nearly works like a rocket stove, but it burns a bit too hot for roasting. With a steel or cast iron pan, you're golden.
The flat-fold design makes it easy to pack in your go bag.

A great stove

I love these Emberlit stoves! I have 2 in the house and 1 in the camp pack. It’s nice to have a stove that you can burn most biomass and not have a worry about the stove getting messed up or things falling into an ash pan.. if there was one thing I would like to see is a way to burn pellets in this thing. Thanks for a great product I’m a customer for life!

Bombproof, crown wearing champion

I have had the SS version for years now. It folds flat, goes together easily, cleans up in a snap, is easily modified, handles ANY bio-fuel, alcohol fuel (trangia), esbit/heximine fuel, and is BOMBPROOF. Mikael's youtube videos really speak the truth. The only modification I have done is to cut a 1/8 inch vertical Dremel tool cut on the top/middle of each side. I use the included cross supports and raise the pot/pan/kettle up for more air flow. I own several Firebox stoves, along with Solo stoves as well...Emberlit is the best by far. I haven't tried a titanium one, in fear I will torture it too much.

Outstanding Design

I've had my Emberlit for a year or so and absolutely love it. It is fantastic for cooking with cast iron as well as aluminum cookware. The design is fantastic and the quality is excellent, which you would expect for an American made product. My wife gifted me with a factory second stove and it was still in great shape cosmetically. As mentioned on their use page, some of the edges may be sharp and may need to be broken.

All in all this is a great product that is well executed. It's a blast to use in the woods.

Brilliant design and Craftsmanship

Purchased 2 of the stainless Emberlit twig stoves. Wife And I made a romantic dinner date-night out of the gear test, sat out on logs in front yard and fired them up with ferro rods, dryer lint, and some fatwood slivers. We got the fires going, put our snowpeak Ti-Mini Solo Combo 2.0 pots on each stove and proceded to boil soup. Took no time at all, and the things performed flawless. While we ate dinner, the red hot embers gave nice light thru the air holes and it was like little red lanterns sitting there.

The design is really well done, the fire cone directs the heat right where it needs to, the burn is easy to regulate, doesnt go wide open, nor does it starve for oxygen.. The things pack FLAT, they rig up and down extremely easy. If you are cooking where there is going to be wood, its a no brainer, leave the propane or gas stoves home, take an emberlit. The things actually take longer to clean up for storage than they do to rig up and cook. We found that the pliers on the leathermans or a baby set of channel locks are the way to go for instant cleanout of embers and then holding the stove up in the wind to cool it off, if you want to rig it down immediately.

Emberlit customer service was top notch, and the things shipped immediately. I will be buying one of these for everyone that needs a gift from here on. Think i would like to have these as emergency backups as well. Next is extended pack trip, and grilling fish on one.
