This striker is reminiscent of the Oval strikers brought over by the Hudson Bay Company as a trade item. It is easy to grip and use.

Like all our strikers, it will fit comfortably inside of a Tinderbox Kit.
It can also be included as part of a Fire Necklace.
And we have suitable stone for striking sparks if you can't find any in your area.

Emberlit Flint and Steel Strikers are cut from high quality carbon steel and professionally heat treated right here in Utah, USA.

Our strikers can rust and tarnish. This is why they cast a spark when struck against stone; rust is just a slow form of burning. This is only cosmetic and harmless. They polish up easily with an abrasive sponge or sand paper.

Practical and perfect compact size

GREAT little striker.

Pros:
Not too big, not too small. Great size for a small fire kit.

Feels natural in the hand, this would be easy to hold if you are pretty cold and your fine motor skills are sketchy.

The design is user friendly, oval, you can't go wrong with that.

Plenty of metal, if you put this one against other strikers, it has two striking faces (or even the whole way around), more sparks for your buck.

Very well made, and you can use the inside of the oval to strike a ferrocerium rod (dual use 👍🏻).

Easy to string a pendant out of it, if that's your jam.

Cons:
None. Zippo. Zero. Nada. Goose-egg. Niente. 無.

Sidenote: Merk's stone is top notch, lots of sharp edges. Check it out.
