Emberlit Flint and Steel - Raven

I've always had a respect for Ravens and other Corvids. Such intelligent creatures. Sometimes a nuisance but intelligent nevertheless.

Like all our strikers, it will fit comfortably inside of a tinderbox kit.
It can also be included as part of a Fire Necklace.
And we have suitable stone for striking sparks if you can't find any in your area.

Emberlit Flint and Steel Strikers are cut from high quality carbon steel and professionally heat treated right here in Utah, USA.

Our strikers can rust and tarnish. This is why they cast a spark when struck against stone; rust is just a slow form of burning. This is only cosmetic and harmless. They polish up easily with an abrasive sponge or sand paper.

Excellent Steel Striker

I enjoy making flint and steel fire and wanted a unique striker to go with my kit. I saw the Emberlit ones on YouTube and decided on trying this one, the raven. I have tried the Pathfinder striker, the ESEE striker, purchased forged ones off Ebay and Etsy, and even cut down an old file to make my own. Without a doubt, this Emberlit performs just like the best of them and weighs a good deal less than some of the larger ones on the market. It's compact enough to fit in an Altoids tin, the finishing process leaves crisp edges that aren't sharp or jagged, and it feels just right in the hand. It throws great sparks, too, of course. I've already purchased a second striker (one of the feather design) and will be buying more as stocking stuffers this holiday season for my wife and daughter.

A piece of advice would be to either thinly coat these in a protective substance like fixing wax, keep it in an oil-tabbed leather pouch, or to force a patina using vinegar or mustard to protect the steel from rust. These are high carbon steel and can otherwise rust.
